This Privacy Policy explains how Quant Screener (the "Owner", "We", "Us", or "Our") collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information about You when You access or use https://quantscreener.in/ (the "Website") and the services offered on it (the "Services"). Quant Screener is an informational analytics and stock-screening tool for the Indian securities market, and access to it is provided through a Google sign-in.

This Privacy Policy addresses privacy matters only. Your use of the Website and the Services is also governed by Our separate Terms & Conditions, Disclaimer, Disclosures, and Refund Policy. By using the Website or the Services, You acknowledge that You have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information in three ways: information You provide to Us directly, information We receive when You sign in through Google, and information that is collected automatically through web technologies when You use the Website.

a. Account and Registration Information: When You register for an account, You provide Us with a valid email address. You may also choose to provide additional information, such as Your name or billing information (for example, when You purchase a subscription). You are responsible for ensuring that the information You provide is accurate and kept up to date.

b. Google Sign-In: Access to the Website is provided through Google sign-in (Google OAuth). When You sign in, We receive basic information from Your Google account, such as the email address associated with that account, in order to create and authenticate Your account. We do not receive Your Google password.

c. Information from External Applications: Depending on how You access the Website, We may also receive information from external applications or services that You use to reach the Website.

d. Automatically Collected and Technical Information: When You use the Website, We may automatically collect certain technical information through cookies, log files, clear gifs (also known as pixel tags), web beacons, and similar web technologies. This information is generally passive in nature and may include details about how You access and interact with the Website.

e. Content You Submit: If You post or comment in the Quant Community, We collect what You submit, including any caption, comment, reply and any image or screenshot, together with the account it came from. Posts are reviewed by a person before they appear; comments and replies are published immediately and are not reviewed first. Images are re-encoded on upload, which removes embedded file metadata such as camera, device and location tags. We cannot see or remove personal information that is visible inside the picture itself, such as a name, client code or account number, so please crop it out before You attach it. Published posts appear under a handle We assign and never under Your name or email address, although We can always link a post to the account that made it, because moderation would be impossible otherwise.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information We collect to: (i) create, authenticate, and maintain Your account; (ii) provide, operate, and support the Website and the Services; (iii) ensure Your continued good experience on the Website, including by communicating with You by email; and (iv) understand and improve Our marketing and analytics. In carrying out these activities, We may work with third-party service providers.

3. COOKIES & TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies and similar technologies, including log files, clear gifs, and web beacons, to operate the Website and to gather passive usage information for analytics and marketing purposes.

You can choose to disable cookies through Your web browser settings. Please be aware that, even if You disable cookies, the Owner will still receive the information You have actively provided to Us, such as Your email address, and that some features of the Website may not function as intended if cookies are disabled.

4. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We may share Your information with third-party service providers who help Us operate the Website and provide the Services, including providers that support Our analytics, marketing, communications, and payment processing. We share such information only to the extent reasonably necessary for these providers to perform services on Our behalf.

5. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER

By using the Website or the Services, You authorize the Owner to store and process Your information in India and in any other country where We or Our service providers may operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws of the country in which You reside.

6. DATA RETENTION

We retain Your information for as long as Your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. If You choose to terminate Your account, the Owner may retain some information about You for future reference for a period of 90 days, after which it will be deleted.

Content You post to the Quant Community is treated differently, and clause 10 of the Terms & Conditions governs it. A published post is shown for a limited period and is then deleted from the live service, and You may remove Your own post or comment at any time, which takes it off the community immediately. Removing a post also removes the comments made on it, and removing a top-level comment also removes the replies to it. The licence You grant Us when You post is permanent, so We may keep and continue to use copies of that content after it is removed and after Your account ends, always under Your handle and never alongside Your name, email address or payment details. Please take this into account before You share anything You would not want kept.

7. DATA SECURITY

We take reasonable measures intended to protect the information We hold against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and We cannot guarantee the absolute security of Your information.

8. YOUR CHOICES & RIGHTS

Subject to applicable law, You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal information We hold about You, and You may terminate Your account at any time. You may also disable cookies through Your browser settings, as described above. To make any such request, please contact Us using the details in the "Contact Us" section below.

Content You have posted to the Quant Community is subject to the licence in clause 10 of the Terms & Conditions, which survives the removal of a post and the closure of Your account. Removing a post, or asking Us to remove one, takes it off the community, and We will always consider a request about content You have shared. If You have a concern about something You posted, please contact Us using the details below and tell Us what it is, so We can deal with it properly.

9. CHILDREN

The Website and the Services are intended only for individuals who are at least 18 (eighteen) years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If You believe that a person under the age of 18 has provided Us with personal information, please contact Us so that We can take appropriate steps to remove it.

10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will take effect when the updated Privacy Policy is posted on the Website, and the "Effective Date" shown above indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Website after any change constitutes Your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
